Bio
Justin Nastasi is an accomplished baseball coach with a championship pedigree and a strong record of developing elite talent. He is currently the Head Baseball Coach at Middlesex High School, where he has compiled an impressive 175–81 record over nine seasons. During that time, he has led the program to five Central Jersey Group 1 Championships and three Group 1 State Championships, helping establish Middlesex as one of the premier programs in New Jersey. In 2018, his team was ranked #9 in the state.
Under his leadership, many of his players have gone on to have successful collegiate careers, with several being drafted by professional organizations—a testament to the program's high standards and player development focus.
Justin’s coaching excellence has earned him numerous accolades:
-
Coach of the Year honors from NJ.com, MSG Varsity, the Home News Tribune, and the Greater Middlesex Conference.
-
Leader of NJ.com's Team of the Year (2021).
-
Part of the Courier News “Program of the Decade” (2010–2019).
In 2024, Justin joined Hillsborough High School's coaching staff and immediately made an impact, helping guide the Raiders to a Central Jersey Group 4 Championship, their first since 2012, and the program’s first winning season in many years.
Before becoming head coach, Justin served as Middlesex’s assistant and pitching coach for eight seasons, where he helped guide the team to six Blue Division titles, one County Championship, and two additional State Championships.
As a player, Justin was a standout pitcher at Union High School, a three-year varsity letterwinner, and the team’s ace, helping lead them to a sectional final. He also pitched for the New Jersey Riptide, who finished 4th nationally at the 1999 AAU Nationals. At the college level, he pitched for Kean University and was part of the program's first-ever NJAC Championship team.
