Takeover Baseball 11U Clinches Lead In Fourth Inning To Defeat Scotch Plains


Takeover Baseball 11U defeated Scotch Plains 5-4 on Sunday after taking the lead late in the game. George DeTorres got Takeover Baseball 11U started in the first inning when he singled, then stole second, and later scored on a Nicholas Wells ground ball. Then Takeover Baseball 11U scored another run in the second inning when Patrick Schwarz led off the inning with a hit, advanced to third on a stolen base, and scored on a big hit by Daniel Ianiero. Takeover tacked on another run in the third when George DeTorres led the inning off with a ball up the middle and later scored on a Brook Lunger sacrifice fly. The game was tied at three with Takeover Baseball 11U batting in the top of the fourth when Patrick Schwarz reached base by error, advanced by a hit by Luke Jones, and scored by a ground out by Jase SousaLuke Jones scored by a big hit by Daniel Ianiero putting the game away.  Nicholas Wells started the game for Takeover Baseball 11UNicholas allowed three hits and three runs over three innings, striking out three to earn the win.  Alejandro Baez earned the save for Takeover Baseball 11U. Baez allowed two hits and one run over three innings, striking out one and walking zero. Takeover Baseball 11U tallied seven hits in the game. Daniel Ianiero and George DeTorres each collected two hits to lead Takeover Baseball 11U. On defense Takeover Baseball 11U turned two big double plays by Jase Sousa, Daniel Ianiero, George DeTorres, and Dylan Ianiero.
