Takeover Orange beats Phillipsburg Stateliners travel baseball club to win its fourth league championship in a row. Takeover had a big second inning Takeover 13U Orange scored 12 runs in the second on its way to a 14-4 victory over Phillipsburg Stateliners on Sunday. The offensive onslaught by Takeover 13U Orange was led by Aaron Feath, Trey Lyerly, Luke Barry, Dom Long, Justin Brown, and Kyle Malchiodi, who all drove in runs. Takeover 13U Orange pulled away for good with 12 runs in the second inning. In the second Feath drew a walk, scoring one run, Lyerly singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Barry singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Long singled on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs, Brown singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Malchiodi singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Colton Lyerly singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, and Feath singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs. Nicholas Wells was the winning pitcher for Takeover 13U Orange. The righty went three innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out three. Lyerly threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Takeover 13U Orange saw the ball well, racking up 15 hits in the game. Long, Barry, and Abrams each had multiple hits for Takeover 13U Orange. Long led Takeover 13U Orange with three hits in three at bats. Takeover 13U Orange didn't commit a single error in the field. Abrams had four chances in the field, the most on the team.
