Takeover Baseball 11U Fights Hard But Loses on Walk-Off

It came down to the last play, but Takeover Baseball 11U was on the wrong end of a 3-2 defeat to Fords Clara Barton on Saturday. The game was tied at two with Fords Clara Barton batting in the bottom of the sixth when Fords singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. The pitching was strong on both sides. Fords Clara Barton pitchers struck out seven, while Takeover Baseball 11U sat down three. In the first inning, Takeover Baseball 11U got their offense started when George DeTorres reached base on an error then stole second and advanced to third on single by Aaron Corcoran. Both players scored when Dylan Ianiero singled on a line drive to left. Nicholas Wells started on the mound for Takeover Baseball 11U, he went two innings, allowing one run on two hits, striking out one and walking one. Aaron Feath and Jase Sousa entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two and a third innings and one inning respectively. George DeTorres, Brooks Lunger, Dylan Ianero, and Aaron Corcoran each managed one hit to lead Takeover Baseball 11U. Takeover Baseball 11U also played stellar defense led by center fielder George DeTorres who made a spectacular diving catch to end the inning and save a run from scoring.
