Takeover Baseball 11U Offense Erupts, Sweeps Cranford Baseball

Game One - Cranford 2 vs Takeover Baseball 17

Kyle Malchiodi was clutch at the plate with runners in scoring position on Saturday, driving in four runs on three hits to lead Takeover Baseball 11U past Cranford 17-2 on Saturday. The Takeover offense started early when Ty Kane reached on a single and later scored on a line drive single by Jake Abrams who later scored when Kyle Malchiodi singled. The offense erupted in the second inning scoring 11 runs. Aaron Corcoran, Dylan Holmberg, Luke Barry, Ty Kane, Trey Lyerly, and Kyle Malchiodi powered the big inning with RBIs. Takeover then tacked on another 4 runs in the third when Dylan Holmberg crushed a double to right, then scored when Luke Barry singled. Jake Abrams and Kyle Malchiodi hit back to back doubles scoring Luke Barry and Jake Abrams. Nicholas Wells was credited with the victory for Takeover Baseball 11U, he lasted four innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out six and walking one. Takeover Baseball 11U had 17 hits in the game. Kyle Malchiodi, Ty Kane , Colton Lyerly, Jake Abrams , Luke Barry, Dylan Holmerg , and Aaron Feath all collected multiple hits for Takeover Baseball 11U. Kyle led Takeover Baseball 11U with three hits in three at bats. Takeover Baseball 11U didn't commit a single error in the field. Jake had the most chances in the field with six.

Game Two - Cranford 3 vs Takeover Baseball 8

Takeover Baseball 11U was deadlocked 0-0 through three innings when Luke Barry led off the top of the fourth with a leadoff walk then stole second and was moved to third on a bunt hit by Ty Kane, Luke scored on a sacrifice fly by Jake Abrams. Kyle Malchiodi hit a single scoring Ty Kane and Trey Lyerly, Kyle later scored on a single by Colton Lyerly. The game was put away in the sixth when Kyle Malchiodi hit a two run homer scoring Jake Abrams who reached on a single. Aaron Feath took the win for Takeover Baseball 11U, he allowed two hits and one run over four and two-thirds innings, striking out eight. Trey Lyerly threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Takeover Baseball 11U collected nine hits on the day. Kyle Malchiodi and Dylan Holmberg both had multiple hits for Takeover Baseball 11U.
