Takeover Baseball Grabs Lead In Sixth Over Jersey Shore Surf to win Columbus Day Bash Tournament

Takeover Baseball defeated Jersey Shore Surf 8-3 on Sunday to capture the Columbus Day Bash title after taking the lead late in the game. Takeover Baseball got on the board in the second inning when Gavin Arieno scored on a grounded out. The game was tied at two with Takeover Baseball batting in the top of the sixth when Gavin Corcoran doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. Mark Marsigliano kept the inning going with a two out hit which was followed by Santino Cignarella who singled down the third base line, Liam Gallagher singled to left, Max Romanok singled up the middle, Gavin Arieno walked, and Donovan Epps singled to to center, leading to 5 runs being scored in the inning. Then in the seventh Lunden Chadwell launched a double in the gap, then Jack Shannon had a terrific sacrifice bunt advancing Lunden Chadwell to third who scored when Mark Ward singled on a 2-0 count. Takeover Baseball tallied 15 hits. Paul Serra, Donovan Epps, Liam Gallagher, Lunden Chadwell, and Max Romanok each had multiple hits for Takeover Baseball. Gavin Corcoran pitched a six inning gem allowing 6 hits, walking 2 and striking out 1 to earn the win. Lunden Chadwell came in to shut the door to seal the victory for Takeover Baseball.
